Water Mission offers plumbing assistance

Water Mission, a Christian nonprofit engineering organization, is collaborating with Austin Disaster Relief Network and Plumbers Without Borders to provide free services to residents of central Texas with burst pipes and severe water damage from the storm winter Uri.

The groups will work together to mobilize a skilled volunteer workforce and plumbing-related materials and supplies to circulate safe drinking water to the homes of the most vulnerable residents, including the elderly, disabled, non-disabled. insured and underinsured.

Homeowners who need plumbing repairs due to freezing temperatures can call the Crisis Cleanup Hotline at 800-329-8052 for assistance.

Residents of Bastrop, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties can call Crisis Cleanup’s toll-free number at 800-329-8052 to request assistance with cleaning up their home and / or debris, as well as repairing damage from plumbing. The Crisis Cleanup line will operate from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Homeowners can sign up for help until March 5.

Monetary donations are always needed to help the network provide support to those who have suffered weather-related disasters. The funds will be distributed in the form of gift cards, emergency housing and / or supplies needed to meet immediate and long-term needs. The utility payment center reopens

The city of Austin reopened the North Utility Customer Service Center, 8715 Research Blvd., Suite 115, starting Monday. Customers will be able to get help with their utility bills, make payments, and get information about payment assistance options.

The site is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The East Utility Customer Service Center remains closed until further notice and the South Utility Customer Service Center is closed for repairs incurred during winter storms; once repairs are complete, this site will also reopen.
