SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio water system is now accepting requests from customers who need help repairing broken pipes to restore service and minimize water loss after the recent winter storm last week.

Customers can register for the Community Pipe Repair Program online, by calling 210 233-FIXX (3499) or by emailing CPR-SA@saws.org. Support in Spanish is available by phone or email.

The program provides assistance in repairing broken pipes that have caused a loss of water to the home or made it necessary to cut off the water supply to the home.

According to a press release, owners of single-family homes valued at $ 140,000 or less in 2019 will be eligible for assistance. If the home is worth more than $ 140,000, then a household can apply to determine if its income / family size meets the criteria for 140% of federal poverty levels.

The CPR program, in conjunction with the San Antonio Area Foundation, began with $ 25,000 in seed money from Wells Fargo and a donation of $ 250,000 from the San Antonio Spurs.
