Caleb Wood started working full time for his father in the plumbing business when he was just a teenager. Today he owns his own plumbing business.
“I grew up on construction sites with my father,†he says. “When I was 16, I got into plumbing full time and have been there ever since. “
Wood, who grew up in Payson, has a clear vision for Payson Plumbing Solutions, which he opened on July 1.
“What I want to bring to my business is the experience of large plumbing companies mixed with the values ​​of small towns,†he said.
Wood brings eight years of plumbing experience to a company he believes is different from others in Payson.
“I am the only company in town that focuses on water treatment and tankless water heating,†he said. “There are a lot of plumbing companies that don’t test your water before installing any type of treatment. I do a full test on your water and build a system based on testing your water because everyone’s water is different.
Wood and his wife, Ashley, have a one-year-old daughter. He moved to Indiana for a year, then spent three years working for the company in Phoenix before returning to Payson in March 2019.
He said tankless water heaters have a lot of offers if installed correctly. Instead of keeping 50 gallons of water heated all day, you only heat the water as you use it. In addition to saving space by eliminating the space needed for a 50 gallon tank, Wood said this translates to 25% more efficiency than a traditional gas water heater, lasting life of 20 to 25 years against 7 to 9 years for a traditional water heater and a savings of $ 200 to $ 300 per year on the use of propane. “These are the reasons I want to focus on this because I think these are the best products on the market for heating water,†he said.
But Wood said some companies were not installing tankless water heaters properly.
“Ninety-nine percent of tankless water heater failures are due to improper installation,†he said. “I go to school several times a year to keep up to date with procedures and new products, and I take every possible precaution to limit breakdowns or recalls when I install a tankless water heater.â€
